Things Come From Emptiness

FROM EMPTINESS
A change of perspective can make life more enjoyable and abundant. Vessels, for me, symbolize ordinary life.
I explore vessels from various perspectives and
record the journey through my work.
I make visual gaps that induce viewers to observe
the work more closely. The gaps are a space
within my work or the layers of two different clay.
Sometimes, I make my work seemingly balanced or unbalanced, which causes a short pause in perception. Through the gaps, my work crosses the boundary between daily objects and art objects.
I create works with white porcelain and hand-building.
I repeatedly stack coils and press the surface,
feeling my work with my hands.
I leave handprints on the surface as a trace of the making processes. Having worked with white porcelain so far,
I recently make unique porcelain mixed with black powder to expand my expression.
